Shiverware Mobile & IoT Solutions built the SpeakBeat Metronome mobile application. The app is free to use and supported by ads, with optional in-app purchases and subscriptions that unlock extra features and remove ads.
This page explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with. By using SpeakBeat Metronome, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. Shiverware Mobile & IoT Solutions will not use or share your information except as described here.
App usage and diagnostics. The app records event-based analytics through Google Firebase Analytics, such as when the app is opened and which features and settings are used. This comes with device information (device model, operating system and app version), an approximate country or region, and a random identifier for your installation of the app. The app also sends crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and performance measurements (Firebase Performance Monitoring). We use this information to learn how the app is used, fix problems and decide which improvements to make.
Optional survey. The app may ask about your experience as a musician, which instruments you play, and whether you are a music teacher or a music student. Answering is optional and does not affect your use of the app. Answers are stored with the analytics data described above.
Purchases and subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to manage purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your purchase and subscription records from Apple (such as the products bought, prices, dates, trial and renewal status, and country), an anonymous app user ID that it creates, your App Tracking Transparency choice, and the Firebase identifier for your installation. That identifier lets us connect purchase records with app usage, so we can understand which features people buy and value.
Advertising. The free version of the app shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the advertising identifier, only if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt), your IP address and your interactions with ads. Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent form before personalized ads are shown; if you decline, ads may still be shown without personalization. Ads are not shown to users who have purchased Remove Ads or have an active subscription.
Settings and experiments. The app receives some settings from Firebase Remote Config. From time to time we test changes with Firebase A/B Testing, which places users at random in groups that may see a different version of a feature. Results are analyzed for each group as a whole.
Feedback. If you send us feedback by email, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply to you and improve the app.
The information above is processed by the service providers named in this policy: Google (Firebase, AdMob and Google Cloud), RevenueCat and Apple. We also keep a copy of the analytics and purchase records in our own Google Cloud account to analyze how the app is used. Information may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries where these providers operate.
We keep information only as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy. On request, Shiverware Mobile & IoT Solutions will delete the survey data, analytics data and purchase-management records we hold about you, and will ask RevenueCat to delete its records as well. Apple keeps its own records of App Store purchases.
